INORGANICS DEPARTMENT MANAGER, EAST LONGMEADOW, MA
We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced (10 years plus) individual to join our team as a Controller.  Ideally, we are looking for someone part-time 20-25 hours per week to start with an opportunity to grow into a full-time position possibly in the future.  We are also open to full-time candidates as well and we will look at both options equally for the right fit and person. The Controller will oversee the accounting staff in handling day-to-day accounting transactions.  His/her main role is managing the accounting department and all accounting procedures.  The Controller will be responsible for the development, implementation and overseeing of all accounting, finance and reporting procedures and daily processes. Presentations to owners on finance and audit issues, oversees accuracy and quality of Accounting practices and quality control of financial reporting. The qualifications for this position include Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent business experience and ten plus years of progressively responsible experience for a major company.

AIR LABORATORY ANALYST, EAST LONGMEADOW, MA

We are looking for an Air Laboratory Analyst to join our existing Air Lab team.

Job purpose:

The AIR Analyst perform environmental analyses and/ or preps samples using standard analytical techniques in compliance with Con-Test Analytical Laboratory’s Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Adherence to health and safety guidelines as appropriate to job function.
• Perform routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs to include:
    *Preparation of samples using standard techniques, following standard operating procedures.
    *Performing chemical solutions, standards, dilutions; following standard operating procedures.
    *Data evaluation, Data reporting / uploading into data reporting system.
    *Reporting data, and any unusual test occurrences to department manager.
    *Conforming to laboratory QA/QC practices.
    *Responsible for general housekeeping in work area/department.
    *Ability to perform instrument maintenance, including; Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry.
    *Cleaning Mass Spectrometry, Tuning, Inlet / Concentrator Maintenance / Trouble shooting.
    *Batching instruments, assisting laboratory technician.
    *Ensuring instruments are running following benchmarks, and optimized to ensure clients’ needs are met.
    *Reporting full data packages, including uploading calibration curves and data.
    *Work with department manager to create efficiency gains to reduce down times and costs.
    *Working with department manager to create daily batches to ensure client needs are met, along with method requirements.
    *SOP updating.
    *Attending outside training seminars.

DATA REVIEW ANALYST, EAST LONGMEADOW, MA

An experienced Data Review professional is sought to join our team!

Job Purpose:

This position serves to ensure the laboratory is producing the most accurate, high-quality data possible while meeting the needs of Con-Test clients. They will provide critical second tier review of all laboratory analyses with an emphasis on accuracy of laboratory data and associated data qualifiers for final reporting to clientele as well as produce comprehensive electronic data packages for data validation purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Critically review analytical data for accuracy while meeting laboratory turnaround deadlines
• Ensure qualifiers are present and make sense
• Validate data for data package compilation
• Compile data packages
• Track errors, oversights and anomalies associated with data
• Train analysts to comply with data review/ data package requirements
• Create/update data review checklists
• Monitor and manage workload effectively

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in area of data review or 8 years analytical experience
• Proficient in appropriate analytical methods and SOPs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE, EAST LONGMEADOW, MA 

We are seeking an Internal Sales Representative to become an integral part of our team!

Job Purpose:

An Inside Sales Representative’s job entails managing our overall bid process and generating leads across all market segments. Has to work closely with Sales, Marketing & Customer Service departments to execute any lead & bid opportunity action items. Will be responsible for implementing all vertical market email and call campaigns. The Inside Sales Representative will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer acquisition and revenue growth activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Executing a wide variety of call campaigns and keep tracking of them in a CRM database.

METALS DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR, EAST LONGMEADOW, MA

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as the Metals Supervisor!

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the overall management of personnel, instrumentation, samples, and analyses within the Metals Laboratory and for ensuring that samples are prepared and analyzed in an accurate and timely manner. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Must read, fully understand the context of, and work within the guidelines stated in the company Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • Must follow and enforce the rules and policies within the company handbook.
  • Perform methodologies in strict accordance with company SOPs.  Assist QAO with maintenance of SOPs, this includes the review and updating of current SOPs and the writing of new SOPs.
  • Must possess a full understanding of the complex chemistries involved in the methods.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and adhere to all Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures specified within SOPs as well as the company Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of all chemicals used by employees within his/her department.
  • Must ensure a minimum amount of samples/work is being completed within a standardized period of time.
  • Must possess and maintain a level of proficiency regarding analytical methods performed.
  • Must ensure all paperwork, logbooks, etc. are properly completed and in a timely manner. Must ensure that paperwork is filed in a manner that insures document integrity and facilitates quick retrieval whenever necessary.
  • Must ensure all data is entered, reviewed and approved in the company LIMS in a timely manner.
  • Must monitor samples in LIMS for accuracy regarding the assignment of batches and analyses.
  • Must possess sufficient knowledge of all pertinent software tools used in data analysis and reporting within his/her department(s).

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • In cooperation with the Laboratory Manager, must determine and assess minimum work capacity for each laboratory test and/or position and ensure this capacity is consistently maintained in their department.
  • Responsible for the overall organization of his/her department(s) (sample load and resource scheduling and resource procurement) and the direct administering of the personnel within his/her department(s).
  • Must monitor and manage work (sample) load processed in his/her department(s) to ensure that all work is performed accurately and within normal and expedited turnaround times.
  • May need to interact with clients on occasion to answer specific questions concerning analyses.
  • Must follow and enforce proper sample handling and disposal procedures as stated in the company waste SOP.
  • Must oversee the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and ensure that it is maintained in a reliable operating condition. Must review maintain logs and ensure all maintenance is properly documented.
